research guide for IW entries

INFO TO INCLUDE:

Artist’s Full Name, alternate names
Place, date of birth
Place, date, age, cause of death
Nationality
Education/training
Spouse, age when married
Primary type of artwork (ex: painting? drawing? sculpture? printmaking? ceramics)
Media (what materials and how are they used?)
Style or period of art with Short definition (see Artlex or Artcyclopedia)
Three other artists who work in this style (from the time period of the artist - or contemporary artists working in this same style). How is the work similar? How is the work different?
How was the artist received during lifetime? Successful as an artist?
Has the attitude toward the artist’s work changed since it was made? How and Why?
Interesting/Personal information on the artist
Favorite Quote or Philosophical idea
IMAGES (include a portrait or photograph of artist and top work)
As you are doing your research find FIVE (5) images of the artist's work to include in your IW (you are not required to have prints of these included). For each image, record:

Title:
Date: Medium: Size:
Location (museum/collection):
URL/ site name (or book source if scanned):

At the bottom of the pages, create a timeline of at least 10 important events & works from the artist’s life and (include a key world event that may have influenced this artist)

Biography Resources (minimum of three sites and books). Include specific URL or author, title, date, publisher (for books), page numbers.
